And the award goes to....

I just received a "blog award" from an 'old' friend from high school. The Ramos Family is one of the blogs that I follow and I was so excited to see that my blog is one that she regularly reads and enjoys. I had to do my own awards too, of course.


So here are the rules for the award:
1. Accept the award. Post it on your blog with the name (and link to their blog) of the person who sent it to you.
2. Pay it forward to 5 other blogs that you have newly discovered.
3. Contact those blog owners and let them know they have been chosen.

Here are my favorites, in no particular order. Drum roll...

The Diaz Family- I've had several mom's tell me that their child is "a lot like Jaycoby", but this is really true with my friend, Meghan. Although our son's are two years apart in age, they have similar quirks and personalities. It's great having a friend who can relate to the silly day-to-day stuff I deal with in motherhood. Her blog captures a lot of special moments with her son and I always find myself saying "that sounds just like Jaycoby" when I read her blog.

Rachel's Favorite Things- Rachel's blog is the most similar to mine. We document (almost daily) the big and small things we've done with our families. Our blogs are the scrapbooks of our kids lives. And if it weren't for Rachel, I would never have known about Blurb.com where I can put my blog into beautiful scrapbooks to save for the kids. I am so excited to make my first books (no, Rachel, I haven't done anything since the day you trained me on it).

The Garland Family- Another mommy friend...Jessica JUST started her blog, but it is still a favorite of mine. She is an amazing writer and puts things into words in the most hilarious ways. Her passion for her job, as a mother, is so evident in all of her posts. A great read, if you have the time!

A Year of Slow Cooking- I have made many of meals from this website and they have all turned out great. I love the way she gives an honest "verdict" at the end of the recipe and that she gives LOTS of pictures. I am the kind of cook that needs a step-by-step description (complete with photos).

Sarah Markley- This is more of a website, than a blog, but I follow it almost daily. I don't read the posts every day, but I try to read them when I can (usually while nursing Ella). Sarah's testimony is powerful and her posts are always so transparent. The Lord has definitely used her blog to help me on some of my worst days.
