Turkey Trot

Pre-race photo (still dry and warm)
Mike and I have been training for a turkey trot for the last few weeks. My shingles were a big setback, because it kept us from the gym for a whole month. Thankfully, I bounced back pretty quickly and am back to my longer runs. Mike was a little more nervous about having to run three miles, since we've only been running again for about two weeks (or less). It was his first time running that distance, since the last time we did this race two years ago. He did great! He likes to say it was "practically a marathon", but really he handled it with ease. The weather was pretty crummy on our drive there, but there was nothing more than a light, occasional mist during the run. It started to rain harder as we made our way back to our car, so the timing worked out to be perfect.
