This post is slightly belated, and a little rushed, but I didn't want to forget to acknowledge our first anniversary that we celebrated this past week. We feel so blessed to have come this far and look forward to celebrating many more anniversaries together. First year down.....and a lifetime to go!
We ended up with several anniversary gifts. First, we bought ourselves a new KING-sized bed. It's mostly a joke that this is an actual anniversary gift, but we felt we'd earned it. As some of you know, our biggest struggle of our first year was SLEEP (in some ways we're thankful that this was our biggest obstacle, but it had it's not-so-fun moments). But now we have our nice, BIG, cozy bed and we've had lots of restful nights since. Then, we gifted ourselves with concert tickets and a dinner in Portland (see post below). And finally, on our anniversary we exchanged our final gifts. Mike got a new set of golf clubs and I got a gift certificate for a massage....do we know each other or what?!?!? We were both pleasantly surprised with our gifts and grateful that God has blessed us with the means to spoil each other a little bit (believe me, the spoiling is over, or we'd be broke). I am a very lucky girl (I'll speak on Mike's behalf and say that he's pretty lucky too....jk)!
