38 weeks

We had our 38-week check-up today. We are into our final two weeks (hopefully it's only DAYS) and I am just trying to relax and enjoy this time before Ella comes. Hahahahahaha! Okay, those of you who know me well, know I'm not relaxing at all. I'm going nuts thinking about all of the times and ways this little girl might choose to arrive. Being relaxed is SO "last pregnancy" for me. This time, I haven't had an ounce of patience. But thankfully, Mike is doing a great job for the both of us. He has been chasing Jaycoby, doing laundry, cleaning and cooking dinner while he forces me to sit around and do nothing. Okay, I'm lying again. It doesn't take much "force", persay, but he hasn't complained for a second and tells me to sit and relax while he takes care of everything. It's been absolutely wonderful. I know I have my work cut out for me, once Ella gets here, so I am trying to take it easy when given the opportunity. Plus, my body just isn't allowing me to overdo it. I want to go into Ella's room and make sure every last little detail is taken care of, but I just don't feel like getting up and around sometimes.
So, back to my doctor's appointment....we were told that Ella has dropped some since our check-up two weeks ago. We weren't given details about how much, but that was still music to my ears. I heard "progress" and I was happy. We were also given the option to induce instead of going beyond my due date. So I feel much better knowing that I won't be going too far beyond the 21st. I think I can handle that. Only thirteen days until my due date....let the waiting game begin.
I am constantly asked how I am feeling.....
-I have been feeling okay overall. I definitely tire a lot more easily and have been dealing with some nerve pain and leg/foot cramps. When the time comes, I will definitely be ready to hold this little girl in my arms and have the whole pregnancy thing be over with. Until then, pray for my husband who has to listen to me whine :-).
-I have also been having some contractions. It could be a long thirteen days if this keeps up, but I do feel like my body is getting ready. I'd had some Braxton Hicks about a month ago and then nothing since. But these are definitely the real thing. I am remembering that feeling all over again and can't wait for active labor to come and go....quickly! :-)
