Birthday getaway

We went to Portland for a night, to celebrate our birthday's and Valentine's Day. After dropping off Jaycoby at his dad's, we headed out for a night on the town. We had a really good time.
Thursday evening we went to Le Cordon Bleu for a 5-course dinner. All of our food was pretty good. We did have to trade dishes for two courses (thank you, Mike) because I didn't love what I was eating. But overall, it was a really good meal. Later, we went out for dessert at VooDoo Doughnuts. Yum! We've talked about going there for a while, so I'm glad we've finally paid them a visit. It was the perfect treat after a tasty meal.
We took our time getting out of bed on Friday, since neither one of us slept great. We stayed at The Nines Hotel and we didn't have any drapes over our window (weird!). Our room was pretty bright through the night with city lights and then glowing again, once the sun came up. So when we finally drug our tired bodies out of bed, we headed to Mother's Bistro for brunch. This is another landmark restaurant for Portland, but we agreed that Salem has better breakfast options to offer (Busick Court, Sassy Onion and Word of Mouth, to name a few). We spent the rest of Friday shopping around downtown, Bridgeport Village and Clackamas. We also caught a movie in the afternoon. It was nice to get out of town!

Looks like you had a GREAT time (aside from city lights keeping you awake all night!). The hotel is gorgeous! Was it expensive? I'd love to drag my hubby there for my 30th birthday! :)
