We celebrated the 4th of July with Mike's family. We spent the evening outside, enjoying the sunshine, having a yummy BBQ dinner, watching fireworks and playing badminton. I would like it to go on record that I beat Mike in a very serious badminton tourney. He claims he lost due to a faulty racquet, but I beat him fair and square, best two out of three. Oh yah!
Sunday evening we had a jam-packed "4th of July" with Jaycoby. We went for a bike ride to the Baskin Robbins and met Grandpa Dick & Grandma Sue. After our ice cream treat, we rode bikes down to the riverfront where Jaycoby got to go on a couple of rides and play in the new splash pad.
Last year, at the state fair, Jaycoby went on this ride tons of times. He was so excited to get on, but then he had to sit there for a while and wait for the other kids to load up. While waiting, he decided he was scared, so he cried the whole ride.
Testing out the new fountain.
Later on, we went home, had a late dinner, went to the garden, played at the park and finished off the evening with fireworks at the house. Phew! That's a lot of activity to cram between 4 and 8 p.m. :).
It was noisy!
