Seattle

Mike and I went to Seattle this past weekend to celebrate our birthdays. It was really relaxing to get out of town and just do something different. Friday we had a nice Italian dinner in Wilsonville on our way up (we knew we couldn't wait until 9:30 p.m. for dinner). The restaurant was called Abella Italian Kitchen. We had never been there before, but we both really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back. Then on Saturday, we got up and went for a long walk around town. We hit up Pike's Market Place, of course, the Pier and several of the big shops around our hotel (Mountain Hardwear, Columbia, Macy's......all of Mike's favorites :). Then in the evening, we went to a really nice restaurant down on the water. It was called Ray's Boathouse and we highly recommend it. We both liked what we ate and our table by the window during the sunset was just beautiful. After dinner, we took advantage of the pool & hot tub at the hotel (on the 35th floor....the view was amazing) and then went to Cheesecake Factory for dessert (which was conveniently located across the street from our hotel). We ended our Seattle stay with breakfast at a yummy bakery and one last trip through the market. Then on our way home we HAD to stop at the REI "flagship" store and Cabela's. Both stores were GI-NORMOUS. Mike was in camper's paradise :-).

Looks like you guys had lots of fun! I don't think we will ever get away overnight...at least until we are retired. :-)

About my cinnamon rolls.....I honestly don't know the nutritional facts. :-) I know they taste tons healthier than Cinnabon ones, and I think they would taste great with wheat flour--maybe half and half?
Good luck!
P.S. I saw your mom at my church on Sunday! And realized that your grandparents go there....thought they looked vaguely familiar.
