Physical Therapy @ Salem Hospital Rehabilitation

Here are some pictures of Ella's appointment today. I haven't been able to take any pictures of her appointments through ESD, because I have been more actively involved in the therapy. I was able to participate today, but sometimes it is more beneficial if I sit back and watch. When she gets upset, and has her eyes locked on mommy, it isn't going to be productive if I am within reach.
What we learned today: Ella lacks a connection in motor planning. She is physically strong enough to do what needs to be done, but she isn't figuring out what she needs to do on her own.

She has play time as a transition. She cries when she has to work, but she does a great job of settling back down during the transition times.


Starting her out on the "wedge". She didn't know that she was going to have to roll down this thing. Here she is playing catch with her therapist.

The yoga ball is used to help her get familiar with certaim movements. She doesn't like this activity and started fussing immediately when he set her on the ball.

The yoga ball is hard work :-(

Rolling down the wedge is even harder. But after doing this in this same direction, three times, she showed us that she can do it all on her own.
